About Dr Syl
Dr Sylvain ‘Dr Syl’ Meslin is an Australian–French medical doctor who was born in Sydney, Australia. He completed a Bachelor of Medical Science at the University of New South Wales, specialising in Medical Microbiology and Anatomy. He later completed his Honours (first class) in Pharmacology at the St Vincent’s Hospital Department of Clinical Pharmacology & Toxicology.
He subsequently completed his Doctor of Medicine with Distinction at St George Hospital, Sydney, graduating with Distinction. He has published multiple academic papers.
Dr Syl is currently training in psychiatry and is the creator of the Dr Syl YouTube channel with over 100,000 subscribers, where he shares evidence-based mental health education with a global audience.
In his free time, Dr Syl loves hiking, camping, and going to the beach.
